Who we are

We have built up a solid team within Xcess who cover all areas of reverse logistics & redistribution. Our company motto is erase, test, repair & resell allowing our retailers & distributors to have an overall solution in place & be able to utilise our technical knowledge to get products into a saleable condition, quickly.

By having qualified in-house technical engineers, we are able to process retail returns & determine their functionality & grading. We also have a highly skilled sales and account management team who can actively place refurbished & graded products into sales channels which yield the best recovery rates. A key part of returns management is handling the peaks after Back to School, Black Friday, Christmas and January Sales. Having built up an industry-leading warehouse management system for booking in stock, data erasure deployment & automated functionality testing for consumer electronics, Xcess has been able to scale the business whilst still maintaining the quality of the products we process. We have a grading matrix so all B2B customers who purchase stock from us can be assured of the condition that they are purchasing. We have chosen to work with globally-recognised ADISA-certified data erasure providers such as Blannco & Blackbelt /White Canyon so that we have an audited process for secure data erasure. We also work with Checkmend when processing smartphones.

On the redistribution side of the business which focuses on brand new stock such as excess to forecast (overstock) or products that are becoming or have gone end of life (EOL), our sales team look for new promotional sales channels that sit outside of core retail. The processes & procedures at Xcess are based on a win / win mentality, both for the vendors who we manage asset disposal for & the customers who we supply inventory into. A key part of our growth has been looking at non-retail channels for surplus stock such as gift with purchase, staff loyalty programmes & also redemption voucher-based programmes which corporates look to offer their customers or staff. We have the ability to redistribute overstock into other territories if this is something our supplier is looking for, or to restrict where inventory is resold.

Debra founded Xcess Trading in August 2011 after being part of the start-up team to launch Stockshifters.com in the UK. She saw a gap in the market for a trusted stock disposal partner for UK retailers, distributors and brands who wanted to get a good recovery rate against their assets, whilst also looking at new and non-conflicting channels to redistribute overstock into. 

Over a decade later she has become a go-to person for vendors wanting a robust & dependable disposition partner. She has overseen the business for the past 10 years in organic growth to become one of the top asset recovery specialists in the UK. In 2017 Xcess acquired a refurbishment business enabling them to handle the end-to-end returns management for key UK retailers in the consumer electronics space in-house, allowing the control of quality & processes within data erasure, testing & repair.
